About

Rose Philander is an interdisciplinary artist and changemaker who grew up in the San Fransisco Bay Area. Currently an undergraduate student in Los Angeles County majoring in Media Studies and Linguistics, Rose uses their liberal arts education to inform their community work and artistic practice in experimental animation, filmmaking, poetry, design, and music.

Education

Rose graduated high school in 2025. They spent the 2024-25 academic year attending De Anza College, taking classes in topics including 3D Modeling, Video Production, American Sign Language, and Environmental Science. They expect to graduate from Pitzer College in 2029. They are an alum of the UJL (counselor in training) program at Brave Trails leadership camp. Rose studies animation at both Interlochen Arts Camp in 2023 and California State Summer School for the Arts in 2024.
